Nutrition and Mental Health

Good nutrition is crucial for healthy mind, body, and spirit. Foods feed all kinds of bacteria living in the gastrointestinal tract. A human microbiome consists of good and bad bacteria. Plant-based diet rich in fiber will feed good bugs in the gut. Low-quality foods will feed the bad bugs.

We want to feed the good bugs and starve the bad bugs by eating clean, high-quality diet free of sugary and fatty foods. Leafy greens (prebiotics) will feed the good bugs (probiotics) that in turn will produce short-chain fatty acids (postbiotics). The latter are miracle workers for our health. Short-chain fatty acids prevent a myriad of diseases such as diabetes, cancer, and depression. Eating high-quality diet rich in fiber is the best way to keep healthy mind, body, and spirit.
